About the Production

We are truly excited to kick off the 2024-2025 Theatre Season with our Opening Production of Kate Hamill’s Sense and Sensibility. It is such fun to watch the next group of students sink their teeth into new material and bring it to life. It takes time, dedication, learning and relearning, and trust to put on shows. This one is no exception. These young performers have been learning how to work together and dig deep within themselves to focus on the storytelling. I know that they will continue to grow this year and that they season we prepare will be entertaining for all of our audiences. Come out to support these performers and technicians and know that each story is new and exciting for all.

Join us in October for our Murder Mystery Dessert Theatre for the Wedding of the Year! The performance will be on October 3^rd at 6:30pm. You Can’t Take it With You will have performances from October 25-28^th at 7pm. Our musical, Mamma Mia will be January 30-February 8, 2025.

Seniors

She has been in technical theatre for four years. Previous credits include Peter and the Starcatcher (Props), Shrek the Musical (Props/Scenic), 26 Pebbles (ASM), SpongeBob the Musical (ASM), Kiss me Kate (ASM), Cyrano de Bergerac (ASM), Radium Girls (SM), Matilda (Acrobat), and Book of Will (ASM). Last year, she and her team won Best Stage Management for a marathon show at Texas Thespians State Festival, and she proceeded to go to nationals for stage management. She is involved in NHS and studio dance and can be seen onstage as the Snow Queen in their yearly production of The Nutcracker. Currently she is the stage manager for Sense and Sensibility, our club President, and is excited for the remainder of her senior year!

Lilly Brown

Stage Manager

This is his 3rd year in the MHS Theatre program and the MHS Band. Previous credits include: Fortinbras (Company), The Drowsy Chaperone (Company), Peter and the Starcatcher, Big Bad, with his favorite role of Edward Tulane in The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Donny in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. He is President of Academic Decathlon and a member of MHS Speech and Debate. This is his 4th year in the MHS Theatre program. Previous credits include Radium Girls (Multiple Roles), Tiny Tim (Cratchit), The Great High School Whodunit (Rufus Richmond), Fortinbras (Company), Peter and the Starcatcher, Big Bad, with his favorite role of Edward Tulane in The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Donny in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. He is President of Academic Decathlon and a member of MHS Speech and Debate.

Owen Brown

This is her 4th year in MHS theatre, & her 11th year doing theatre overall!! Previous credits include: 26 Pebbles (Carole), Shrek, the Musical (Mama Bear),Big Bad (Wise Old Woman), The Canterbury Tales (Wife of Bath), Book of Will (Rebecca), Matilda (Mrs. Phelps), Radium Girls (Multiple Roles) and Tiny Tim (Puppet Seller). She is a member of the Theatre Club. She’s in ComedySportz, Varsity Productions and is the President of Speech and Debate.

Zia is very excited to be in theater for her last year of High School. She was last seen backstage for Matilda and as the sound designer for Radium Girls, Tiny Tim and the Senior Directed play The Lord of the Flies. She has also been involved working backstage on SpongeBob and Kiss Me, Kate. She is excited to be part of this year’s Advanced Technical Theater class and cannot wait to participate in the year’s upcoming productions.

This is her 2nd year in Varsity. Previous credits: Tiny Tim (Company), Radium Girls (Costume Crew Chief), The Great High School Whodunit (Carlene Reston), Shrek, the Musical (Scenic Crew), 26 Pebbles (Costume Crew). Kiss Me Kate (Choreographer & Chorus). The SpongeBob Musical (Choreographer & Chorus) She also participates in The MHS Belles team and will be in the in the upcoming performance of The Nutcracker with Backstage Dance Studio. This is her second year to qualify for Musical Theatre Solo Dance at Nationals.

Victoria Mattfeld

This is her fourth year at MHS in Varsity theatre. Her previous credits include Radium Girls (Various Roles), Matilda (Mrs. Wormwood), Noises Off! (Properties), Trouble at the Talent Show (Bulba), Peter and the Starcatcher (Ensemble), Shrek, the Musical (Teen Fiona/Ensemble), Fortinbras (Alternate), Big Bad (Ms. Muffet), 26 Pebbles (Jenn), The SpongeBob Musical (Sandy Cheeks), Kiss Me, Kate (Bianca/Lois Lane), and Cyrano de Bergerac (Duenna). She is also president of the criminal justice club and was recently nominated for a Tommy Tune award for Outstanding Lead Finalist.

Aiyanna Renner

This is Marco’s 9th show with MHS Theatre and he is in the Technical Theatre Programming. He has worked on and performed in Radium Girls (Backstage Crew), Tiny Tim (GraveDigger), SpongeBob, the Musical (Ensemble), Kiss Me, Kate (Ensemble), Peter and the Starcatcher (set and props), Noises Off (scenery and set), Shrek, the Musical (Lights and sound), and 26 Pebbles (Spotlight).

Peyton is very grateful to be on stage again! Previously, he has performed in Radium Girls (Multiple Roles), Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge), Matilda (Ensemble), and The Book of Will (Multiple Roles). Outside of MHS theatre, he's involved in ComedySportz, Chess Club, and has assistant directed for multiple shows at Lone Star College - Montgomery.

Peyton Waites

Juniors

Coming into her third year of theatre, but first at MHS, she is looking forward to the year ahead. Having already had the opportunity to be Shylock in Something Rotten, as well as featured roles in John Cariani's LoveSick. She has also had the opportunity to have a few stints as a stage manager under her belt. This year she'll be a part of the Comedysportz team and is very much looking forward to it. Along with two separate theatre classes, Advanced Tec, and JV acting. She's hoping that her first year at MHS will be a good one and so far her predictions are seeming to be correct.

Mercedes Fausett

11th Grade

Noah is excited to be in Varsity Productions. He enjoys playing violin in his spare time. Previous credits include: The Great High School Whodunit (Coach R F Stone) and Radium Girls (Various Characters), and Ensemble in The Book of Will.

This is her 3rd year at Montgomery Theatre. Previous credits include, SpongeBob: The Musical (scenery crew), Kiss Me Kate (Scenery Crew), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Props Crew), Radium Girls (Props and Scenery), Tiny Tim's A Christmas Carol (Props and Scenery), Matilda The Musical (Scenery/Head of Stage Left). Cadence is excited for this season and ready for the work to come!

Cadence Hogue

Kayleigh is in her 3rd year of theatre. She is the vice president of theatre club and a very active member in speech and debate and ComedySportz. She loves her friends and is so excited for a new year!! Kayleigh’s credits include 26 Pebbles (ensemble), The Spongebob Musical (ensemble), Kiss Me, Kate (ensemble) Cyrano de Bergerac (alternate), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Abeliene), Radium Girls (Harriet/clerk), Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol (backstage), Matilda the Musical (Amanda Thripp), The Book of Will (alternate).

Kayleigh McGrath

Noelle is in her second year of being involved in the theatre and her first year in Advanced Tech. She is also involved in NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and Interact. This is her third show in theatre. Her previous credits are Radium Girls (Scenery and Prop Crew), and Matilda (Scenery Crew/Spotlight). She is very excited to continue theatre and work on future shows.

This is his 3rd year in theatre and is currently in the Advanced Technical Theatre Class. Jayson is in charge of the public outreach for Montgomery Theater Officers. He is the Co-Captain of ComedySportz and is enrolled in Speech and debate. Konnor is excited to be involved in his second production with MHS Theatre previously being involved in the Murder Mystery Dessert Theatre in the acting side and tech. He also worked the flying for Matilda, The Musical. He is in technical theatre and is happy to be working for this production.

Eyan is ecstatic to begin his 3rd year in Montgomery theatre and second year in Varsity Productions. He is a recently inducted officer and proud captain of the ComedySportz team! Eyan can be recognized from the previously performed Matilda: the Musical (Various Roles), UIL OAP The Book of Will (Isaac Jaggard), Radium Girls (Various Roles), Tiny Tim (Various Roles), The Great High School Whodunit (Rick Trumbull), 26 Pebbles (Ensemble), The SpongeBob Musical (Perch Perkins), Kiss Me, Kate (Paul) and was in the company of the UIL OAP Cyrano de Bergerac.

Eyan Staels

Sophomores

This is her first year of theater and she is excited for the year ahead. And the experiences that it will hold. Being in advanced tech and JV theater. Having already performed in the senior direct, Lord of the Flies, and The Last Lifeboat. She is also looking forward to meeting new people and the new memories that she will be making this year. This year she is also doing ComedySportz, helping with theatre, and having a great time.

Kinsley Beatty

This is the third of the Brown Family to be involved in MHS Theatre. Ginger has been involved in theatre for nine years. She is involved in the student council, Interact Club, ACADEC, along with Speech & Debate. Most recently, she played multiple roles in Radium Girls here at MHS and the production that traveled to Texas Thespians State Festival. She was also onstage for Tiny Tim and the musical, Matilda in the role of Lavender. She is our Club Secretary.

Brianna is in JV Productions and has been involved in theatre for four years. She won the Tech Award last year and is excited to see how things go from here. Previous credits include: The Great High School Whodunit (Bertha Rooper), Tiny Tim (Chorus), and Matilda (Nigel). She is excited for this year’s theater and all the new people who joined our program.

Brianna Ford

Prop Mistress

This is her second year at MHS, and she is excited to be in the JV Productions Class. Rose has been acting for six years beginning with Destination Imagination. Her favorite role was Nettie Norton in Anybody for Tea. She is involved in softball, UIL, and Speech & Debate. Previously she was seen as Mrs. Dudley in our Murder Mystery Dessert Theatre and Ghost of Christmas Future in Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol.

Rose Mannino

Gabbie is in her 4th year of theatre. She participated in UIL OAP and received All Star Crew. She is excited to continue her love of theatre and loves working on makeup and has a passion for dancing. Noah’s favorite role has been Herbert in Spam-a-lot. He has performed at both the Owen and Crighton Theaters. He is also in choir at MHS and on the ComedySportz Team. This is Emma's first year doing theater in high school but second year doing theater. She hasn't been in many plays but the few she has have been very special. She loves helping with the costuming for shows and hopes to keep doing it when she isn't on stage. This is her first year doing ComedySportz but she's very happy to be a part of the team.
