About the Show

Sweet-natured Alice Sycamore falls for banker’s son Tony Kirby. But when she invites her snooty prospective in-laws to dinner to give their blessing to the marriage, Alice’s peculiar extended family — including philosophical grandfather Martin Vanderhof, hapless fledgling ballerina sister Essie and fireworks enthusiast father, Paul — might be too eccentric for the staid Kirbys. Kirby is introduced to the importance of living life to the fullest and the two families find a way to accept each other, and love conquers all. You Can’t Take It With You is a madcap, idealistic comedy that reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy.

From the Director

Thank you for coming out today to support these amazing artists with their show. They have been working so hard to bring this American classic to life. We laughed a lot creating the moments of this production. What fun we have had as a team learning about this kooky family.

It is hard to believe we are in our third show already this school year. These kids have learned so much as we work through the challenges of building our community, teams, and shows. Sense and Sensibility pushed our language skills, the MMDT added new members to our acting company, and this show is growing our technical skills and comedic acting. Each year, I choose shows that allow us to work on our skills and get this group of students to achieve their best and keep growing.

We truly hope that you enjoy our show and will come back to join us in January/February for the musical, Mamma Mia. We know this favorite with the music of ABBA will rock the auditorium with lots of energy and joy from the past. Our year cannot happen without you, our audience. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at more of the art events here at MHS.

This is her first year of theater and she is excited for the year ahead. And the experiences that it will hold. Being in advanced tech and JV theater, having already performed in the senior direct, Lord of the flies, and The Last Lifeboat, she is also looking forward to meeting new people and the new memories that she will be making this year. This year she is also doing ComedySportz, worked tech for Sense and Sensibility, and is having a great time.

Kinsley Beatty

10th Grade

This is the third of the Brown Family to be involved in MHS Theatre. Ginger has been involved in theatre for nine years. She is also in Speech & Debate. Her previous show credits include Radium Girls (multiple roles), Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol (Charlotte), Matilda (Lavender), The Book of Will (Crier) and most recently Sense & Sensibility (Elinor Dashwood). She is our Club Secretary. Ginger thanks her family for always supporting her love for theatre.

Ginger Brown

10th Grade

She has been in technical theatre for four years. Previous credits include Peter and the Starcatcher (Props), Shrek the Musical (Props/Scenic), 26 Pebbles (ASM), SpongeBob the Musical (ASM), Kiss me Kate (ASM), Cyrano de Bergerac (ASM), Radium Girls (SM), Matilda (Acrobat), Book of Will (ASM), and Sense and Sensibility (Stage Manager). Last year, she and her team won Best Stage Management for a marathon show at Texas Thespians State Festival, and she proceeded to go to nationals for stage management. She is involved in NHS and studio dance and can be seen onstage as the Snow Queen in their yearly production of The Nutcracker. Currently she is the stage manager for You Can’t Take It with You, our club President, and is excited for the remainder of her senior year!

Lilly Brown

12th Grade

Owen is a senior this year, and this is his 4th year in the program. Previous credits include Sense and Sensibility (Colonel Brandon), The Book of Will (Ben Johnson), Matilda (Escapologist), Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol (Cratchit), SpongeBob, Shrek, and Peter and the Starcatcher. He is the president of Academic Decathlon, and he is treasurer of the theatre club. He will be attending Texas State University next year to study Wildlife Biology.

Owen Brown

12th Grade

This is his first show and year in MHS Theatre. He is in JV Productions and is excited to be on stage this year.

Jacob Cooksy

9th Grade

This is his first show and year in MHS Theatre. He is in JV Productions and is excited to be on stage this year.

This is her 4th year in MHS theatre, & her 11th year doing theatre overall!! Previous credits include Sense and Sensibility (Lady Middleton/Anne Steele/Gossip), Book of Will (Rebecca), Matilda (Mrs. Phelps), Radium Girls (Multiple Roles), Tiny Tim (Puppet Seller). She is a member of the Theatre Club. She’s in ComedySportz, Varsity Productions and is the President of Speech and Debate.

Lyndi Cotton

12th Grade

This is his first year in MHS Theatre, second show having previously been in Sense and Sensibility; and he is also involved in Madrigal Choir. He is excited to be part of the community and hopes everyone enjoys the performing arts.

Samuel Cotton

9th Grade

They're very happy to have been a big participant in the theatre program and will definitely be sad to go. They are also involved in the cosmetology program and art club. Previous credits include Noises Off! (scenery), Peter and the Starcatcher (alternate), Shrek the Musical (lights), Big Bad (props), 26 Pebbles (scenery and props), The Sponge Bob Musical (props and sound), Kiss Me, Kate (alternate), M (sound), The Great High School Whodunit! Althea Cuculic

12th Grade

This is her first show with MHS Theatre and serves as Commanding Officer of the JROTC Company. Her current rank is Cadet Major and she competes for the school in JROTC Raiders and Drill Team. She is also involved in NHS, National Hispanic Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, and Art Club. She is excited to be in her first show.

Angelina Cuculic

12th Grade

Zia is very excited to be in theater for her last year of Highschool. She was last seen as Sound Designer for Sense and Sensibility. Her other shows are Matilda and as the sound designer for Radium Girls, Tiny Tim and the Senior Directed play of Lord of the Flies. She has also been involved working backstage on SpongeBob and Kiss me, Kate. She is Excited to be part of this years Advanced Technical Theater and can't wait to participate in the years upcoming productions.

Zia Delong

12th Grade

Joy is so excited to be involved in JV Productions this year. Joy was in Sense and Sensibility on props crew. She is looking forward to a great year with MHS Theatre.

This is Emma's first year doing theater in high school but second year doing theater. She hasn't been in many plays but the few she has have been very special. She loves helping with the costuming for shows and hopes to keep doing it when she isn't on stage. This is her first year doing ComedySportz but she's very happy to be a part of the team. Overall, she is so happy to be able to help anyway she can and have fun doing all the things she loves.

Emma Dunbar

9th Grade

Ashley is entering her first year of high school theater. She is on the Comedy Sportz team and is very excited to be involved as a musician in the Murder Mystery and a part of You Can't Take it With You. She loves her first year of high school in Texas and is excited for amazing opportunities.

Ashley Fausett

9th Grade

Coming into her third year of theatre, but first at MHS, she is looking forward to the year ahead. Having already had the opportunity to be Shylock in Something Rotten, as well as featured roles in John Cariani's LoveSick. She has also had the opportunity to have a few stints as a stage manager under her belt. This year she'll be a part of the ComedySportz team and is very much looking forward to it. Along with two separate theatre classes, Advanced Tech, and JV Productions, she's hoping that her first year at MHS will be a good one and so far her predictions seem to be correct. She worked tech for Sense and Sensibility and will be acting in You Can’t Take It with You.

Mercedes Fausett

11th Grade

Noah is excited to be in Varsity Productions. He enjoys playing violin in his spare time. Previous credits include: The Great High School Whodunit (Coach R F Stone) and Radium Girls (Various Characters), Sense and Sensibility (John Willoughby/Gossip) and Ensemble in The Book of Will. He was last seen in Sense and Sensibility.

Noah Ferrarone

11th Grade

Brianna is in JV Productions and has been involved in theatre for four years. She won the Tech Award last year and is excited to see how things go from here. Previous credits include: The Great High School Whodunit (Bertha Rooper) and Tiny Tim (Chorus)Matilda (Nigel). She is excited for this year’s theater and all the new people who joined our program.

Brianna Ford

10th Grade

This is Cayden’s second year in technical theatre class and is returning to Advanced Technical Theatre. Previous credits include: Matilda, the Musical (sound and backstage) and Sense and Sensibility (Backstage).

Cayden Galvan

10th Grade

This is her 3rd year with The Montgomery Theatre Department. Previous credits include; SpongeBob The Musical (Scenery Crew), Kiss Me Kate (Scenery Crew), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Props Crew), Radium Girls (Props/Scenery Crew), MMDT (Hippie), A Tiny Tim's A Christmas Carol (Props/Scenery Crew), Matilda The Musical (Scenery/Head of Stage Left), Sense and Sensibility (Scenery Crew). Cadence is excited for this season and ready for the work to come!

Cadence Hogue

11th grade

This is her first year in theatre and she worked previously on Sense and Sensibility. She is also involved in Choir, Speech and Debate, and ComedySportz. She is excited for this year and what it holds.

Faith Hogue

9th Grade

This is her second year at MHS, and she is excited to be in the JV productions class again. Rose has been acting since 4th grade, and her favorite role was Nettie Norton in Anybody for Tea. She is involved in ComedySportz, speech and debate, choir, and the criminal justice club. Previously she was seen as Mrs. Dudley in our Murder Mystery Desert Theatre and the Ghost of Christmas Future in Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol.

Rose Mannino

10th Grade

This is her 4th year in the Technical Theatre Program and her 2nd year in Varsity. Previous credits: Sense and Sensibility (Fanny Dashwood & Lucy Steele), The Book of Will (Hair and Makeup Crew Chief), Matilda the Musical (Hortencia & Choreographer), Tiny Tim (Company), Radium Girls (Costume Crew Chief), The Great High School Whodunit (Carlene Reston), Shrek, the Musical (Scenic Crew), 26 Pebbles (Costume Crew). Kiss Me Kate (Choreographer & Chorus). The SpongeBob Musical (Choreographer & Chorus) She also participates in The MHS Belles team and takes on the role as Line Officer, and she will be in the in the upcoming performance of The Nutcracker with Backstage Dance Studio.

Victoria Mattfeld

12th Grade

Kayleigh is in her 3rd year of theatre. She is the vice president of theatre club and a very active member in speech and debate and ComedySportz. She loves her friends and is so excited for a new year!! Kayleigh’s credits include 26 Pebbles (ensemble), The SpongeBob Musical (ensemble), Kiss Me, Kate (ensemble) Cyrano de Bergerac (alternate), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Abilene), Radium Girls (Harriet/clerk), Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol (backstage), Matilda the Musical (Amanda Thripp), The Book of Will (alternate), Sense and Sensibility (Margret/ gossip 3)

Carleigh Northcutt

Noelle is in her second year of being involved in the theatre and her first year in Advanced Tech. She is also involved in NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and Interact. This is her fourth show in theatre. Her previous credits are Radium Girls (Scenery and Prop Crew), and Matilda (Scenery Crew/Spotlight), Sense and Sensibility (Technical Crew). She is very excited to continue theatre and work on future shows.

This is Caiden’s second year to be involved in MHS Theatre. He is in the Advanced Technical Theatre class and was last seen in Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol (company) and Matilda, the Musical.

Caiden Peoples

10th Grade

This is Caiden’s second year to be involved in MHS Theatre. He is in the Advanced Technical Theatre class and was last seen in Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol (company) and Matilda, the Musical.

This will be Kianna's 2nd year of Montgomery Theatre. Previous shows she has done are Radium girls (tech crew), Tiny Tim (assistant stage manager), Matilda (ensemble), The Dark Road (Lise), and worked as ASM for Sense and Sensibility.

Kianna Phillips

10th Grade

Noah Pickard is in the 10th grade. His Favorite role was prince Herbert in Spamalot. He has also been in Matilda as Bruce, Joesph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat as the Pharoh. Tiny Tim (Tax Collector/Gravedigger), Radium Girls (Ensemble). He was also the sound designer for Noises off at the Owen Theatre. He is a dedicated actor who does Magic in his free time.

Noah Pickard

9th Grade

This is her 3rd year in the MHS Theatre program and is in advanced technical theatre. She's been in Sponge Bob the musical (backstage tech), Kiss Me, Kate (backstage tech), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (costumes and backstage), Radium Girls (Assistant Stage Manager), Murder Myster Desert Theatre (props and performed as a hippie), Tiny Tim (backstage tech), Matilda (backstage co-chief), The Book Of Will (backstage hand), and Sense and Sensibility (tech crew).

Evelyn Reddell

11th Grade

This is his first year in MHS Theatre where he worked on Sense and Sensibility (technical crew) and he is also on the Tennis Team.

This is her fourth year at MHS in Varsity theatre. Her previous credits include Sense and Sensibility (Mrs. Dashwood/Gossip), Radium Girls (Various Roles), Matilda (Mrs. Wormwood), Noises Off! (Properties), Trouble at the Talent Show (Bulba), Peter and the Starcatcher (Ensemble), Shrek, the Musical (Teen Fiona/Ensemble), Fortinbras (Alternate), Big Bad (Ms. Muffet), 26 Pebbles (Jenn), The SpongeBob Musical (Sandy Cheeks), Kiss Me, Kate (Bianca/Lois Lane), and Cyrano de Bergerac (Duenna). She is also president of the criminal justice club and was recently nominated for a Tommy Tune award for Outstanding Lead Finalist.

Currently he oversees the public outreach for Montgomery Theater Officers. He is the Co-Captain of ComedySportz and participates in Speech and debate. Ella is excited to be back on the stage again! She is 15 and a Sophomore at MHS. Recent involvements include Sense and Sensibility (Marianne Dashwood), Tiny Tim (Book Seller), Matilda (Matilda), and UIL Book of Will (The Dark Lady).
